Mayor Domenic J. Sarno congratulated new Deputy Director of Veterans’ Services Joseph DeCaro. DeCaro was appointed to the Deputy Director position by Mayor Sarno and his appointment was confirmed by the City Council on Monday, May 11, 2020.
DeCaro, a veteran who served for the United States Coast Guard, previously served as an Investigator for the Department of Veterans Services.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I am proud to have Joe on board as the city’s new Deputy Director of Veterans’ Services. Joe has been very active for our veterans and in the community, volunteering his time to help with numerous veteran programs and affairs. He truly loves the work he does in helping our honorable veterans. I want to thank the City Council for confirming the appointment of Joe DeCaro. I know he will serve our Springfield community with honor and distinction in this new capacity.”
