Mayor Sarno and HHS Commissioner Caulton-Harris Announce Homeless Testing to Start in Partnership with Mercy Hospital / Trinity Health

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Health and Human Services (HHS) Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris announced today that the City of Springfield in partnership with Mercy/Trinity Health will have all systems in place to continue testing of our vulnerable homeless population at the Springfield Rescue Mission’s Taylor Street site on Friday or Saturday and will begin to mobilize at the Rescue Mission’s Mill Street site by next week.

Mayor Sarno states, “I am very thankful to Commissioner Caulton-Harris for her continued yeoman efforts and to Dr. Robert Roose, Chief Medical Officer for Mercy Medical Center, and his team for once again stepping up to the plate and delivering.  Mr. Ron Willoughby, Executive Director/CEO of the Springfield Rescue Mission had reached out to Helen and I seeking testing assistance and we’re more than happy to accommodate.”
