Today, Reverend Robert S. White and the parishioners of Mayor Sarno’s home parish Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield graciously donated $1,000 to help outfit our brave and dedicated police officers, firefighters, and frontline personnel with personal protective equipment.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank Reverend White and the Mount Carmel Church Parishioners for their very generous donation to our Springfield Fire and Police Departments so we can continue to get them much needed protective equipment. As Fr. White stated in his letter, he heard my public plea for PPE’s and I am very hopeful to hear his words of wisdom at Saturday 4:00 p.m. Masses soon too. These are certainly challenging times but through our faith and hard and smart work we’ll get through this together, as one and for the better.”
In addition, the city also received a donation of four thermal infrared thermometers from an anonymous donor.
