Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with a small group today on the steps of City Hall, to raise the Irish flag, celebrating our Irish community here in Springfield. Mayor Sarno stated, “It is important that we mark and respect all that the Irish-American culture has done for our community. We also want to celebrate our 2020 Springfield Colleen – Colleen Curley, along with her Court and 2020 Parade Marshall Sean Cahillane, who we hope to honor with a more fitting celebration, when it is safe to do so.”
Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood, Chief of Staff Tom Ashe, Superintendent of Schools Dan Warwick, City Councilors Mike Fenton and Sean Curran, and School Committee member Chris Collins were also in attendance.
