Mayor Domenic J. Sarno gave thanks and appreciation to everyone who has donated winter coats and clothing items for our brother and sisters from Puerto Rico who have been affected and displaced by the natural disasters on the island.
Mayor Sarno said, “Having witnessed and managed three natural disasters right here in Springfield, I know firsthand the devastation the island of Puerto Rico is living through. The pictures and news reports continue tell the story and the struggles many of our fellow Americans are facing as they try and relocate to our city. I want to thank everyone who has generously donated these winter items, especially Victoria Mancheno and her team at The Invincible Project for making such a significant contribution. These items will go a long way in helping our brother and sisters transition to the New England weather.”
