Mayor Sarno Sponsors Ordinance Supplying Police Commissioner Subpoena Powers

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “While the City Council continues to fail to act on a proposed ordinance to grant our civilian Community Police Hearing Board (CPHB) subpoena powers, I have requested City Solicitor Ed Pikula to create an ordinance that establishes the Police Commissioner as an Ordinance position, and separated it from the CPHB Ordinance. This would allow the Police Commissioner to have the authority to summons witnesses. In the meantime, the Executive Order establishing the CPHB would remain in effect and they could request that the Police Commissioner summons witnesses when necessary.”
