Nancy Lieberman Charities is teaming up with Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to give the Springfield Police Department and the Springfield residences a brand new Kids & Cops Dream Court™. The new Dream Court™ will be located at Calhoun Park. This Dream Court™ will be the 2nd location in Springfield of its kind.
“I’m so proud for us to be able to donate a 2nd Dream Court to the City of Springfield. It means so much to me given the history, birthplace of basketball and the Hall of Fame, very honored!” said Basketball Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman.
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “So very appreciative of Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman’s generous and continued dedicated community efforts. This is now the second Dream Court for our community to enjoy. Nancy and I firmly believe that sports and the teamwork it brings is a major positive factor in bringing us all together as one in a mutually respectful way.”
The Dream Court™ will be 50-by-84 feet with two brand new basketball goals, and features a high-performance PowerGame™ surface from Sport Court® in signature Kids & Cops dark blue and steel blue colors. Its centerpiece is the Dream Courts logo, flanked by the brands of all supporting organizations.
Over three million youth play on Dream Courts in the U.S. and Sport Court has been the partner to Nancy Lieberman Charities since the first court installation in 2010. A total of 84 Dream Courts™ have been built to-date across the nation with each court serving approximately 120 youth per day, helping improve the lives of over 3.6 million kids a year.
A dedication announcement was held on Thursday, September 5 at Calhoun Park.
