36th Annual National Night Out Against Crime and Violence

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019 throughout the City of Springfield, citizens, community groups, law enforcement agencies, business, state and local officials will join over 38 million people in over 16 thousand communities nationwide to celebrate the 36th Annual National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Together, we are making that happen.

The City of Springfield is celebrating by hosting a series of events supported by the Springfield Police Department, the Mayor’s Office, Springfield Fire Department, the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and neighborhood councils.

“This is our continued C3 Policing model – a collaboration of law enforcement and neighborhoods working together as one to make a better Springfield,” said Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, who will be attending as many of the events across the City as he can.

“National Night Out is a wonderful event that helps builds relationships between the Police Department and our residents, as well as strengthens our neighborhoods.  We hope to see you out there and I’ll be trying to get to as many events as possible with Mango our new comfort dog,” said Acting Commissioner Clapprood.

Attached is a list of National Night Out events happening tomorrow – all free to the public.
