Forest Park Main Greeting Rd. (Swan Pond) Closed to Repair Collapsed Culvert

Beginning on the morning of Monday, April 29, 2019, Main Greeting Road at the Sumner Avenue entrance of Forest Park, will be closed to the public (both vehicular and pedestrian traffic) until further notice to repair the collapsed culvert at Swan Pond. The tennis courts and John J. Shea Technical Training Facility can still be accessed by the Sumner Avenue entrance. Barricades will be placed just beyond the tennis courts and the Cyr Arena entrance of Main Greeting Road. Those wishing to access the rest of Forest Park are asked to enter through the Trafton Road or Route 5 park entrance, by Picknelly Baseball Field.

The Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management is repairing and replacing the collapsed culvert at Swan Pond.  The culvert project will be completed by November 1, 2019.

Both the Trafton Road and Route 5 Entrances are open and available as public entrances to Forest Park to access the Farmers’ Market, the Barney Carriage House, the pool, splash pad, basketball courts, ballfields, and the Zoo.
