Aquatics Department Offering Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course Next Month

The City of Springfield’s Aquatics Department will be offering a Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course during April vacation week at Commerce High School, 415 State Street. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. 

Persons 15 years of age and over can register for the course, which runs Tuesday, April 16 through Saturday, April 20, 2019. Please see the attached flyer for course times.

An in-pool test will be given to all participants prior to the first day at Commerce on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. Based on the results of the swim test, participants who pass will continue on to the full course. Cost for the program is $175.00 (cash or check only) per person for City residents and $225.00 for non-City residents. All fees must be paid by the first day of the class.

The department is pleased to offer an invitation to all interested participants to learn these valuable life skills. The course is part of the Aquatics Division’s ongoing commitment to provide quality programming.
