Springfield Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management is having a party and everyone is invited. On Monday, February 18, 2019, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and the Springfield Board of Park Commissioners invite you to kick off “Fabulous February!” for its annual winter fun.
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “I am proud to be celebrating the 41st anniversary of Fabulous February. This year’s programs offer families the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors right in our beautiful Forest Park. I encourage everyone to look at the events planned and set time aside to participate and enjoy!”
Patrick Sullivan, Executive Director of Parks, Recreation and Building Management said, “Our recreation division has done a great job to ensure 41 years of quality programs for February Vacation week. We are thrilled to be hosting the Birds of Prey Program and Cyr Arena for public skating. This year’s schedule offers activities for both the young and old. This gives the opportunity beyond our usual weekend schedule to take time during the week and spend it with your family. We welcome everyone to participate.”
Paula Thayer, Assistant Director of Recreation said, “We are thrilled to be opening up Forest Park and welcoming back Tom Ricardi and Regreen Springfield for another season of great program offerings. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday and during the week. Please look at our schedule and bring a friend.”
Forest Park will come alive with a day jam-packed with activities that invite families to spend time together having fun and relaxing in beautiful Forest Park. Most of this year’s events will take place at the renovated Clifford A. Phaneuf Environmental Center (ECOS) on Porter Lake.
