Building on the momentum sparked several weeks ago with the launch of a districtwide Attendance Matters initiative, city and school officials proclaimed January 10th as Attendance Matters Day in the City of Springfield during a ceremony taking place Thursday, January 10th at 10 a.m. at Liberty Preparatory School, 53 Alderman Street.
The ceremony included the presence a PVTA bus, with a large Attendance Matters advertisement on the outside. Students and staff who spoke affirmatively about the program and accepted the Attendance Matters Day Proclamation. The district’s overall attendance rate is currently 92.7 percent, up from 91.8 in 2011.
