Springfield Public Schools Opens New Meline Kasparian Professional Learning Center

Today, Springfield Public Schools officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Meline Kasparian Professional Development Center, now at 1250 St. James Ave (behind the RMV). Investing in the development of our teachers, counselors, administrators, and parent facilitators in crucial to the success of our students. Superintendent Daniel Warwick, Chief of Staff Denise Jordan on behalf of Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, State Senators Eric Lesser and Jim Welch, School Committee Vice President Peter Murphy and members Chris Collins, Denise Hurst, and School Committee member elect LaTonia Monroe Naylor, SPS staff and members of the Kasparian family were amongst those who cut the ribbon.

The facility is named in the memory of Meline Kasparian, a proponent of public education who taught in Springfield public schools for 25 years and served as president of both the Springfield Education Association and Massachusetts Teachers Association.
