Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and State Representative Angelo J . Puppolo, Jr. joined members of the Italian Cultural Center of Western Mass Inc. today to raise the Italian Flag in recognition of Italian Heritage Month. The annual ceremony is held each year in early October at the Christopher Columbus statue in Springfield's South End.
Before the ceremony began, Mayor Sarno asked those in attendance to observe a moment of silence for those affected by the horrible tragedy in Las Vegas.
