Held earlier today was the City of Springfield's annual September 11th Remembrance Ceremony. Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Police Commissioner John Barbieri and Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant honored the fallen firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel and military personnel that lost their lives on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The American flag at the Raymond M. Sullivan Public Safety Complex was lowered to half-staff to honor and remember those brave individuals. The moving ceremony was led by WWLP-22News reporter Tamara Sacharczyk.
