Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined members of the Baitus Salaam Mosque for a celebration of Eid al-Adha, the Islamic Festival of Sacrifice, this morning. Members generously presented Mayor Sarno with a $500 to donate to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
Mayor Sarno said that he was “Pleased to once again be invited by our Muslim community to attend their religious holiday event of Eid al-Adha. We are a very proud and diverse community of Springfield. These types of events are important to embrace and mutually respect to help us continue to come together as one.”
