This afternoon Mayor Domenic J. Sarno welcomed the Springfield Lady Mig’s to City Hall to congratulate them on their recent victory as the 6th grade National AAU Champions. The championships were held last month in Hampton, VA. Mayor Sarno presented each of the young ladies and their coaches with official citations to recognize their accomplishments.
Mig’s Team Youth Sports is a youth basketball program centered on youth ages 5 through 18 from the Greater Springfield area with the target of educating and empowering them with the tools and experiences to help them succeed in life, academics and athletics. This championship team is led by head coach Jose Feliciano and assistant coaches Humbe Olivero and Joseph Mares. The players are Jezmarie Davis, Jordis Tautalatasi, Daizany Mares, Bianca Lee Ortiz Cordero, Isabella Meadows, Amany Neveah Lopez, Madison Heather Kelly, Brooklyn Olivero, Daniella Castellano Cruz, J’nyalise Marie Therrien and Marisabel Isaac.
