Springfield, MA (August 17, 2017) [Boys & Girls Club Family Center]: Mayor Domenic J. Sarno will be joining leaders of the Springfield Youth Collaborative, a partnership with the South End Community Center, the Dunbar YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club Family Center. They have come together for the second year to end their summer camps and summer sessions with a Summer Camp Olympics that will be held at Blunt Park, between the hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm. This event is hosted by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
The Executive Directors of the respective organizations, Patrice Swan of the South End Community Center, Lavar Click of the Dunbar YMCA and Keshawn Dodds of the Boys & Girls Club Family Center are excited to be able to work with Blue Cross Blue Shield so that our youth can have a fun ending to their summer experience. “We are grateful that Blue Cross, Blue Shield has bought in to our vision of collaboration and our goal of strengthening our community together.” Patrice Swan states.
The Summer Camp Olympics featured many field day games for kids, along with bounce houses, a dunk tank, face painting and much more.
