Mayor Sarno Issues Statement on Tragic Events in Charlottesville, VA

Monday, August 14, 2017

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “After leaving late last evening from another successful Jazz and Roots Music Festival (thank you Evan Plotkin and team) in our beautiful and historic Court Square, where a beautiful mosaic of thousands flocked from all over New England and New York; I was extremely alarmed and upset by what happened in Charlottesville, VA – ‘what is our country coming to?!’ My thoughts and prayers go out to all those families that suffered a terrible loss of life and were injured. These actions by white supremacists – the ‘new KKK’ groups – should be denounced by all. Don’t be fooled by their propaganda, once again, they spew hate and enjoy violence. In the end, they will not prevail and good will overcome evil.”

Released to the press on Sunday, August 13, 2017.
