Mayor Sarno welcomed Holyoke Community College President Christina Royal to his office today to discuss strengthening the partnership between the City of Springfield and HCC, and working in collaboration with Springfield Technical Community College to prepare for the opening of MGM Springfield. Both colleges are offering education and training in areas relevant to the operations at the resort casino, including culinary arts, information technology and gaming. Due to open in September of 2018, the city, HCC and STCC are ramping up to put our Springfield and Western Massachusetts residents to work at MGM Springfield. At the meeting were Chief Development Officer Kevin Kennedy, Chief of Staff Denise Jordan and City Solicitor Ed Pikula.
