Mayor Sarno Commends Springfield Resident Mike Borecki for Jimmy Fund Walk Fundraising

Springfield resident Mike Borecki set out this morning at 4:30 a.m. on a trek from Springfield City Hall to Palmer to benefit and promote the 2017 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was joined by State Representative Jose Tosado, City Councilor Kateri Walsh and her husband, former Veterans Services Director Dan Walsh, and East Longmeadow Town Council President Kevin Manley, in awarding a citation to Borecki’s daughters, Teresa and Darcy, and granddaughter Kailani. At the time of the citation presentation, Borecki was passing Spec Pond in Wilbraham.

Mayor Sarno praised Borecki for his commitment to raising awareness for the important mission of fighting cancer. He said, “This health issue is near and dear to many of us, especially Mike Borecki. I commend Mike for his continued and dedicated efforts to the Jimmy Fund. I have donated to and participated in a number of Mike’s events. Please give to help others in need to conquer this challenge.”
