City Council Approves Mayor Sarno's FY 2018 Budget

Monday, June 19, 2017

This evening the Springfield City Council cast a unanimous 11-0 vote (Councilors Timothy Allen & Melvin Edwards absent) in favor of Mayor Sarno's FY 2018 budget recommendation. The budget totals $628.8 million and reflects the third consecutive year in which it was balanced without the use of stabilization reserve funds, and allows less than a 2.0% increase over last year's budget. This budget targets the Sarno Administration's core mission with a continued focus on public education, and providing funding for improved economic development, public safety, and community services for the residents of Springfield.
