Springfield City Library’s Indian Orchard Branch is excited to announce that a new library Community Room is available for public use starting on Thursday, April 13th.
A public ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on April 12th, which included comments from Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Springfield City Council President Orlando Ramos.
The Community Room was originally used for storage and served as a staff workroom. Diane Houle, Branch Manager for the Brightwood and Indian Orchard branches, saw the potential for the room and was the driving force behind its transformation, which involved light renovation, fresh paint, and new furniture. The room accommodates 12 people and includes tables and chairs that may be flexibly arranged.
The Springfield City Library now offers Community Rooms at the Central, Brightwood, Forest Park, Indian Orchard, Mason Square, and Sixteen Acres locations. Public groups may also book the Computer Lab at the Central Library. Public groups wishing to book these spaces may do so online at http://www.springfieldlibrary.org/library/services/meeting-rooms.
