Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined Planet Fitness Franchisees John Tucker and Steve Rondeau yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of their new Parker Street location. The celebration included a ribbon cutting, games, giveaways and raffles. The new Planet Fitness is 22,000 sq. feet and offers cardio machines and strength equipment, 30-Minute Express Circuit, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, flat screen televisions, massage beds/chairs, and more amenities. The gym will be open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Tucker and Rondeau presented an oversized check in the amount of $3,000 to Boys & Girls Club Family Center Director Keyshawn Dodds and Program Director Matt Rogers. The Boys & Girls Club Family Center is a non-profit organization that teaches youth the values of life, strengthens their self-esteem and makes them better citizens of the community through social, physical and educational development activities.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I deeply appreciate John Tucker and Steve Rondeau’s belief and investment in our City of Springfield. By opening this gym and giving back to the Boys & Girls Club Family Center they are contributing to the overall health and betterment of our community.”
