City Releases RFP for Police Department Substation

Thursday, February 16, 2017

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief Procurement Office Lauren Stabilo announce that the City is seeking Request for Proposals (RFP) for the lease of space for the Springfield Police Department Substation. RFPs will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017, at which time the proposals will be opened and read. RFP documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning February 16, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in person at the Office of Procurement, located in City Hall, Room 307, or by emailing Theo Theocles, Esq., Deputy Procurement Officer at ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com.

The City of Springfield is seeking to lease space to house its Police Department in a downtown Police Substation. At a minimum, the City is seeking to lease approximately 2,500 square feet of space that can accommodate the Police Substation and support functions.

The City expects that most spaces will require various levels of renovation and improvement in order to meet the minimum criteria herein. To the extent that renovations or improvements are required, they will be the landlord’s sole responsibility, and the costs thereof must be built into the lease price. In addition to the cost of renovations and improvements, the lease price should be inclusive of all taxes, major utilities, repairs, and other expenses, as detailed in this RFP.

The City is seeking a 5-year lease for the desired space, with one (1) optional renewal term of five (5) years, for a total lease term of ten (10) years.

All questions regarding the RFP must be submitted in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. EST. Questions may be faxed or emailed.  The Procurement Department’s fax number is (413) 787-6295.
