Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “Due to the snowstorm and upon recommendation of emergency preparedness officials Springfield City Hall will open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017. This pertains to all non-emergency employees. All city emergency and essential services will be intact. Please, again be prepared and stay safe.”
Due to the snowstorm on Thursday, February 9, 2017, the city was not able to pick up recycling due to the closure of the Recycling Facility and the plan was to pick up this cancelled recycling on Monday, February 13th. However, the city has recently been notified that the facility will be closed tomorrow as well. Due to the closure, we will pick up the cancelled recycling with this Thursday’s trash pick-up. Residents with a Thursday trash pick-up should put out their recycling this Thursday.
