Springfield Police Department Launches CrimeView Dashboard

Monday, November 21, 2016

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Police Commissioner John Barbieri announce completion of phase one of three for the Springfield Police Department’s Real Time Crime Analysis and Intelligence Center as they launched CrimeView Dashboard earlier today. CrimeView Dashboard is a tool that provides “real-time” crime analysis, hot spot situational awareness, and crime intelligence to support officers responding to calls for service and other critical incidents that are in progress.

Mayor Sarno stated, “This continues our proactive efforts to knock down crime and get those repeat violent offenders off of our streets and out of our neighborhoods. On my continued public interactions, this is what is requested by our law-abiding residents of all creeds, colors and backgrounds. This is what Commissioner Barbieri and our brave and dedicated ‘men and women in blue’ will continue to deliver.”

“This technology improves officer efficiency by providing them updated accurate information on crime and quality of life issues in their assigned areas. Officers that are better informed can provide improved public service,” said Commissioner Barbieri.

CrimeView Dashboard provides users with a snapshot view of pertinent information about crime, disorder and persons of interest. The data is refreshed several times a day and is available for making real-time decisions on current trends. This system allows for greater communication with and better use of resources to target current crime trends and track results.

CrimeView Dashboard enhances officer’s safety and arms them with information which enables the very best service to the community.  Additionally, CrimeView Dashboard is customized to enhance the Police Departmen’s C3 policing efforts and deliver information to beat management teams as well as the community.
