Vital Information Session for Veterans and their Families on Benefits and Services

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and the Springfield Department of Veterans’ Services announce that a Vital Informational Session for veterans and their families will be held to provide information and assistance on how to obtain benefits that may be available to them. The event will be hosted in the Cobb Center Room at St John’s Congregational Church on Wednesday, August 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Representatives from local veterans’ community agencies will be available to answer any questions.

Mayor Sarno said, “This is part of our ongoing efforts to continue to reach out and give back to our brave and dedicated veterans in respect and thanks for their efforts, on behalf of a grateful city and country. I’m very appreciative of our Veterans Director Tom Belton, other veteran organizations and St. John’s Congregational Church for their leadership in this event.”

“Many programs and benefits exist to military veterans. Some are offered through private organizations as well as the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Although most benefits are well known, still there are benefits that some veterans may be unaware of. This information session is designed to address this issue,” said Tom Belton, Director of the Department of Veterans Services.

Please see the attached flyer for more information. Reservations can be made by calling Tom Belton at (413) 787-6103.
