Mercy Medical Center (MMC) and its Springfield Transforming Communities Initiatives (TCI) partner program, have been awarded a $2.5 million grant to help support MMC and Live Well Springfield (LWS). LWS is a community-based group of organizations which aim to provide services and improve polices to improve public health among low-income adults and children. MMC will receive up to $500,000 per year to help fund the program's initiatives. Mayor Sarno was on hand to help celebrate the announcement, along with MMC and Springfield Officials.
