SPRINGFIELD – The Office of Planning & Economic Development (OPED) has formally received additional information with regards to the proposed MGM Springfield Site Plan Review submission. The OPED had previously made a determination the application was incomplete on October 26, 2015, and had requested additional information in order to comply with the Zoning Regulations.
After a review of the supplemental information submitted, OPED has determined that the application for the Site Plan Review, under Casino Overlay District provisions in the Zoning Ordinance, is now complete. The City will have thirty (30) days to review the plans internally, with a City Council hearing to be conducted within forty five (45) days.
“We are very pleased that MGM Springfield has submitted additional information, including their presentation they made last Wednesday, and look forward to continuing this process as it moves forward to the City Council,” Mayor Sarno said. “We believe this is a significant milestone,” Sarno continued.
