Springfield Citizens Police Academy To Begin!
The 37th class of the Springfield Citizens Police Academy will begin on Wednesday March 5th at 6:00 p.m. This free, 10 week, one-night-per-week class is for residents of Springfield, 18 and older, interested in Policing in Springfield and Community Partnerships. The class is held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the East Springfield Neighborhood Office, 1437 Carew Street located directly behind Pottenger Elementary School. This is very close to the intersection of Carew St. and St. James Avenue. . You must pre-register. Topics explored will include the organization of the Springfield Police Department including Traffic, Narcotics, Internal Investigations, Gangs, Crime Prevention, Community Policing, Use of Authority, Patrol Procedures, Youth Aid Bureau, k- 9, Police Community Relationships and much more.
