Springfield Citizens Police Academy To Begin!

 

The 37th class of the Springfield Citizens Police Academy will begin on Wednesday March 5th at 6:00 p.m. This free, 10 week, one-night-per-week class is for residents of Springfield, 18 and older, interested in Policing in Springfield and Community Partnerships. The class is held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the East Springfield Neighborhood Office, 1437 Carew Street located directly behind Pottenger Elementary School.  This is very close to the intersection of Carew St. and St. James Avenue. . Previous participants have found the classes to be interesting, informative, and fun.

Topics explored will include the organization of the Springfield Police Department including Traffic, Narcotics, Internal Investigations, Gangs, Crime Prevention, Community Policing, Use of Authority, Patrol Procedures, Youth Aid Bureau, k- 9, Police Community Relationships and much more.

 

Don’t pass up this exciting opportunity! Information provided in the class assists participants as they address issues they may have and increases their knowledge of police work.
