March 27, 2013 -Springfield, MA- The City of Springfield’s Department of Public Works will begin its curbside yard waste collection program starting this April 2nd. Yard waste will be collected every other week on your recycling day.
Please make sure to put your leaves in brown paper leaf bags, available at hardware stores and supermarkets. (No plastic bags will be collected). You may also put your leaves in barrels no greater than 30 gallons and weighing no more than 40lbs when filled.
Branches should be 3” in diameter or less and tied together in manageable bundles.
