WMECo and Springfield Partnership in Energy Efficient Construction Pays Big Taxpayer Dividends

Join WMECo President and COO Peter Clarke and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno at the newly constructed Roger L Putnam Vocational Technical Academy. The $115 million school is a prime example how the city’s energy efficiency partnership with WMECo is paying off – saving energy, increasing comfort and cutting greenhouse gases – while also saving taxpayers money. 

On top of the money the city saves in energy costs there’s another bonus—an energy efficiency incentive check for $190,000 being presented to the Mayor by Peter Clarke.

WHAT: A gathering to highlight the many energy efficiency measures incorporated into the design and construction of Putnam Academy.  WMECo will also formally announce the awarding of $190,000 in energy efficiency incentives to Springfield for the construction project.

WHEN: March 27th at 1pm-- Because of school security protocol please meet promptly at 12:55 P.M. at the security desk located by the main entrance of the school to be escorted to the press event location.

WHERE: Roger L Putnam Vocational Technical Academy, 1300 State Street, Springfield, MA

WHY: This partnership created a state-of-the-art facility while earning incentives using high tech, environmentally friendly, energy efficient equipment

Tours of the new school will be available after Putnam’s students present the city and WMECo with certificates of appreciation.
