Mayor Domenic Sarno Announces Staff Changes In The Finance Department

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno announced today that Springfield’s Budget Director LeeAnn Pasquini will be leaving the City of Springfield’s Finance Department. LeeAnn is leaving the City to pursue a position at the University of Massachusetts as the Director of Budget and Planning for the Office of the President.

Mayor Sarno stated “I want to thank LeeAnn for her service to the City and wish her well. LeeAnn has worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents and businesses of Springfield. Her aptitude in finance combined with her personality and work ethic make LeeAnn very special. I suspect UMass doesn’t quite realize how great a decision they have made. This is a bittersweet departure; I wish her the best in her new role with the University of Massachusetts.”

LeeAnn Pasquini has been the Budget Director for the City of Springfield since March of 2010 when she relocated back to Western Massachusetts from Boston. Her team, partnering with the other City departments, has helped make budget recommendations to continue to balance the City’s budget while maintaining core services during these challenging fiscal times. In addition, she and her team have been an important part of funding both the initial response and re-building efforts that the City has faced as a result of the disasters that have struck Springfield.

LeeAnn Pasquini commented: “I would like to thank Mayor Domenic Sarno, Acting CAFO TJ Plante and the entire Finance Team for having confidence in my work and for supporting me during my time with the City. I am proud of the Finance Department and the accomplishments we have made as a team. As a resident, I look forward to seeing the Department’s and the City’s continued success.”
