Mayor Domenic J. Sarno Hires New Constituent Services Director

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno announced today changes in his office staff. James Leydon, formerly Director of Constituent Services will replace Attorney Thomas Walsh, former Director of Communication for Mayor Sarno. In addition, William Baker will join the Mayor’s staff as the new Director of Constituent Services.

Walsh had been Communication Director for the past five years. Commenting on his parting he stated “It has been an honor and a privilege having the opportunity to assist the many residents and business owners who had contacted Springfield City Hall for assistance during the past five years and this experience has heightened my passion for public service”.

Leydon, has worked in constituent services since 2008.

Baker comes from the office of State Representative Sean Curran, where he served as a legislative aide.

Mayor Sarno said; “I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication Tom has given over the years, and he will be missed. I wish him all the best as he returns to his first passion, the practice of law and seeks new opportunities. Bill Baker brings a wealth of experience in constituent services. Jim Leydon is looking forward to his new role.”

As Director of Communications Leydon’s salary will be $60,000 annually. As Director of Constituent Services Baker will earn a salary of $50,000 per year.
