Springfield firefighter David Colón was promoted to District Fire Chief in a brief ceremony at the Raymond Sullivan Public Safety Complex on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
Acting Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant said he believes Colón is the first minority ever to hold a district chief position in the City.
