On Wednesday, Aug. 8, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki will join state and local officials to break ground on the South End Streetscape Improvement Project, which was supported by a $1.2 million MassWorks Infrastructure Program grant.
The project site, known as the Dwight Street Extension, is located within a sub-district of Springfield's South End neighborhood known as "the Hollywood District.” The infrastructure project will improve the physical roadway condition, traffic circulation and on-street parking. The upgrades accommodate pedestrian activities and improve safety in the area.
