City Of Springfield Awards Fema Public Assistance Grant Administration And Consulting Contract To Resilire Engineering And Consulting, LLC

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno today announced the selection of Resilire Engineering and Consulting, LLC, (hereinafter “Resilire”), a New Orleans based firm specializing in program management and cost recovery, to help the City of Springfield effectively and swiftly navigate the FEMA Public Assistance Program. Selected through the City's official bid procurement process, Mayor Sarno recently legitimized the firm's contract.

In an effort to strategically channel municipal resources and efforts, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno publicly bid out a contract for grant management and Public Assistance Program consulting in connection with the City’s applications for reimbursement from State and Federal agencies, including FEMA, for losses and costs incurred by the City as a result of the EF-3 tornado which struck the City on June 1, 2011, and an October 29, 2011 snowstorm, both of which were Federally Declared Disasters.

“The City of Springfield will continue to fight tooth and nail to ensure that we receive every dime we are entitled to as a result of last year’s two federally declared disasters,” commented Mayor Domenic J. Sarno. “We have worked tirelessly on the City’s long term recovery and will continue to do so for as long as it takes.”

City Officials will oversee the consultant’s operations which will include the process of identifying tornado-related damages to city properties, maximizing FEMA reimbursement on those identified damages, meticulously track reimbursed funds and provide a thorough database of documentation for the City in preparation for any potential future audits of Federal funding.

Resilire will pair its familiarity of the Public Assistance Program with a strict commitment to providing the most favorable outcomes for the City of Springfield with respect to the implementation of recovery projects. The firm will coordinate with regional, state and Federal agencies to accelerate the City's recovery.

"The ongoing rebuilding and recovery of the City of Springfield will require an unprecedented level of resources and expertise," said Joshua Norman, President of Resilire Engineering & Consulting, LLC. "We are confident in our abilities to guide Springfield officials through the complex maze of the FEMA Public Assistance Program and enable the city to maximize its available resources to rebuild safely and wisely for the future."
