City Of Springfield To Raise The Donate Life Flag In Recognition Of Flags Across America Campaign

WHERE:         Steps of Springfield City Hall (Room 220 if inclement weather)

BACKGROUND

The City of Springfield will host a flag-raising ceremony on the steps of Springfield City Hall to honor residents who have been touched by organ tissue and eye donation.  Since 2009, the Flags Across America Campaign has allowed hundreds of hospitals, workplaces and communities to honor and celebrate the hundreds of thousands or donors and recipients whose lives have been touched by organ tissue and eye donation.  This initiative is meant to encourage the public to designate donation decisions by registering their wishes in their state donor registries.
