The City of Springfield will conduct a public hearing on Friday, December 23, 2011, at 5:30 p.m., at Springfield City Hall - Room 220, regarding a proposed change to the City’s entertainment license regulations.
The purpose of the hearing will be to solicit input from the public and business owners regarding a proposed change to Springfield’s Entertainment License Regulations creating a requirement that any establishment offering entertainment after 1:00 a.m., file a written request for a “Special Late Night Entertainment Permit.” If approved, establishments without a Special Permit will have to cease offering entertainment at 1:00 a.m. Currently, entertainment can be offered until 2:00 a.m., at licensed establishments.
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno has appointed Associate City Solicitor Alesia Days to serve as the hearing officer. Attorney Days will present the proposed regulations and then receive public input at the hearing.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend and offer testimony.
