Description: Mayor Domenic J. Sarno will join
Partners for a Healthier Community and the
University of Massachusetts in announcing a $200,000
matching grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
to advance the Wellspring Initiative – a major initiative to
create significant new employment opportunities in Springfield’s inner-city neighborhoods. Major employers and anchor institutions
in the region have stepped up to match these funds.
The Deval-Murray Administration will be represented by Jan Murray, Assistant Secretary for Gateway Cities Initiatives and Elizabeth Cardona, Director of the Western Massachusetts office.
