Springfield Citizens Police Academy Sign Up

Springfield’s Citizen’s Police Academy is starting the 31st class on October 5th!  Springfield’s Citizen’s Police Academy is a program that has been successfully running for 31 classes, and many people have had a great time taking part.  Past attendees have had an opportunity to learn the role of the Springfield Police Department in their community along with what tasks they perform. Officers and community partners are always available to talk and answer questions at these meetings. Participants learn about the K-9 Unit, Narcotics/Vice, Gang Task Force, the Detective Bureau and much more.  Sign up now for the FREE 2011 Citizen’s Police Academy!  Participants will get an in-depth look at the Springfield Police Department and the organization’s structure. Attendees will also learn about the 9 sectors that make up Springfield, Youth and Family Services, Domestic Violence, Traffic, Street Crimes, Tactical Operations, Use of Force, Crime Prevention, Internal Investigations, Problem Solving, Patrol, Crime Analysis, Criminal Investigation, ID, and much more! “This program opened my eyes and made me realize that I had the potential to be as big a part in reducing crimes as the police”, as said by a past participant. This program has proved to be a valuable resource over the years because it helps to enhance Community Police Relations. Sign-ups start now! This program is available to all Springfield residence age 18 or older. Classes are held 6:00-9:00 on Wednesday evenings for 10 weeks. This program is completely FREE and beneficial for you!
