SBA to Close Disaster Loan Outreach Centers and Business Recovery Center in Hampden County on August 18

ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today that due to a steady decrease of activity, the Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) and the Business Recovery Center located in Hampden County in Massachusetts will cease operations Thursday, Aug. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Although, the SBA physical disaster loan application deadline is Monday, August 15, 2011, the DLOCs and Business Recovery Center will remain open past the deadline to assist homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profit organizations with their application process.

The locations and hours of operations of SBA’s DLOCs and the Business Recovery Center are:

The SBA offers low interest disaster loans to disaster victims for physical losses up to its loan limits. Approved loans can be increased for protective measures to lessen similar future damages. Additionally, small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations can obtain loans for unmet working capital needs. To be considered for this assistance, disaster victims need to apply by the deadline.

To obtain program information call the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for people with speech or hearing disabilities) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET or send an e-mail to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Business loan applications may be downloaded from <link typo3 www.sba.gov _blank>www.sba.gov. Applications may be returned to the Centers or mailed to: U. S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76155. Those affected by the disaster may also apply for disaster loans electronically from SBA’s website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is August 15, 2011. The deadline to return economic injury applications is March 15, 2012.
