CITY OF SPRINGFIELD REMINDS RESIDENTS THAT FISCAL YEAR 2011 TRASH FEE BILLS ARE DUE APRIL 15, 2011
April 8, 2011 – The City of Springfield reminds residents that the Fiscal Year 2011 trash fee bills are due in full, no later than Friday, April 15, 2011. Failure to pay by the due date will result in a $10.00 late fee and interest will accrue on the past due balance at a rate of 12% annually.
The bills for the Fiscal Year 2011 Trash Fee were issued on March 16, 2011. The bills reflect the Trash Fee for solid waste collection services provided from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. Balances due from Fiscal Year 2010 also appeared on the bill, plus accrued penalties and interest.
The amount of the fee for solid waste collection has been reduced to $75.00 per bin annually, less any approved discounts. Payments made on or after March 2, 2011 may not be reflected in the bill.
