Rebuilding Together for 'Heroes at Home'

Rebuilding Together Springfield’s (RTS) held a “Heroes at Home” Event on Wednesday, May 12, 2010  sponsored by Sears.  The organization worked on a “Transitional Housing Facility” for 12 homeless veterans run by the WMASS Bilingual Veterans Association.  RTS, along with over 100 volunteers completed in ONE day: the entire interior was painted, all cabinets in the kitchen were removed and installed including the counters, bathroom vanities were removed,  all Sears appliances were installed, carpeting, flooring in upstairs baths completed, all Bob’s furniture moved in, exterior shrubs, bushes trimmed, planted, chain link fences removed, trees cut and removed and vinyl siding on shed completed!  Due to the weather, we were unable to complete the exterior painting.  That will be done next week.
