March 2, 2010 - City Clerk Wayman Lee announced today that dog licenses for the year 2010 (April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011) are now available at the City Clerk’s Office, 36 Court Street, Room 123, or by going to the City’s website www.springfieldcityhall.com/cityclerk
The fees are $5 for a spayed or neutered dog and $20 for other dogs. A late fee of $5 per month will be added for each dog not licensed by June 1, 2010. A current rabies vaccination is required and if you are registering by mail you must include a self addressed stamped envelope.
“The City Clerk’s office is using computer technology to match rabies vaccination certificates from veterinarian offices with current dog licenses to enforce mandatory dog licensing laws along with animal control and the police department for 2010,” stated Wayman Lee.
