Community "Call to Action"

Springfield Communities of Faith Unite to Address Violence

The Springfield 10 Point Coalition in conjunction with the Council of Churches, City Officials and Members of the Faith Community will host a “Call to Action” on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 12:00 noon on the Steps of City Hall.

Invited speakers include Reverend Paula Alexander, Interim Executive Director of the Council of Churches, Reverend Talbert Swan, Pastor of Spring of Hope Church and the Springfield 10 Point Coalition,  Bishop Timothy McDonnell of the Roman Catholic Diocese, Mayor Domenic Sarno, Police Commissioner William Fitchett and City Councilor Kateri Walsh, President of the Springfield 10 Point Coalition and others.

This event is in response to the surge of violence in the Springfield Community.  Community and Religious Leaders will be invited to set aside Sunday, November 22 as a day of prayer,
