Mayor Sarno to Throw First Pitch in NE Pee Wee Tournament

MAYOR DOMENIC J. SARNO WILL THROW OUT FIRST PITCH AT AMERICAN AMATEUR BASEBALL PEE WEE REESE NORTH ATLANTIC REGIONAL TOURNAMENT

July 16, 2009 - Mayor Domenic J. Sarno will welcome participants to the American Amateur Baseball Congress Pee Wee Reese North Atlantic Regional Tournament and throw out the first pitch on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 9:00 a.m., at Picknelly Field in Forest Park. 

This event brings many families to the area and the teams are comprised of some of the best baseball players in the under 13 age group in the North Atlantic region.  The tournament sponsors expect teams who are State and Regional champions from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. 

The tournament will be hosted by the John L. Sullivan Sandlot Leagues.  The John L. Sullivan Sandlot Leagues, Inc., is the oldest and largest youth league in the area with more than 120 teams and nearly 2,000 children participating in organized baseball each year.
