The City of Springfield wished to congratulate Department of Health & Human Services Director Helen R. Caulton-Harris for her recent recognition by the Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA).
Caulton-Harris received the Paul Revere Award for outstanding leadership in promoting public health and social justice through innovative programs, policy and partnerships. The MPHA chose Caulton-Harris for this award due to her prominent and effective role in developing policy for the health and human services needs of underserved populations within the City of Springfield and on a national level.
Hundreds of health officials and community leaders from across the Commonwealth gathered for the MPHA’s 7th Annual Celebration and Awards Breakfast on May 15, 2009, where Caulton-Harris was one of four Massachusetts pioneers in public health recognized.
