Riverfront RFP Deadline Extended to June 26

May 22, 2009 - The Springfield Redevelopment Authority in coordination with the City of Springfield has extended the deadline for proposals for the lease of a building on the Springfield Riverfront.

The Request for Proposals is seeking a tenant to lease of the current Visitors Information Center (VIC) building at 1200 West Columbus Avenue. The current VIC will be relocated within the Hall of Fame, leaving the 4,100 square foot building available later this summer.

The original deadline was May 21, 2009.  However, no responses were submitted. In order to allow more time for interested parties, the new deadline is June 26, 2009, at 1:00 p.m.

The property sits within the West Columbus Urban Renewal Plan which regulates uses that could be proposed in the building. Uses such as office space, retail space, restaurant, and hotel are some of the approved uses. A full description of the Urban Renewal Plan will be provided to proposers. The property offers easy highway access on and off from I-91, with over 100,000 vehicles per day passing by the properties, and offers the unique opportunity to be just steps away from an international attraction with the Basketball Hall of Fame.
